Rosia Carob

Ceratonia siliqua

Carob Rosia Bay

A sprawling carob above the historic anchorage of Rosia Bay.

Story & Significance

It was to Rosia Bay that HMS Victory was towed after Trafalgar. This carob has watched the bay change from naval anchorage to quiet harbour. Its dense canopy is a favourite roost for house sparrows and the occasional hoopoe passing through on migration.
